OH, RICH LITTLE, YOU STILL GOT IT!

So, you may recall last year that Stephen Colbert was the featured guest at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner. And he was widely accused of being ... not funny. Not funny. Not. Funny. Despite gems like this:
"I stand by this man. I stand by this man because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. Things like aircraft carriers and rubble and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message: that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound -- with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world."
and this:
"Everybody asks for personnel changes. So the White House has personnel changes. Then you write, "Oh, they're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic." First of all, that is a terrible metaphor. This administration is not sinking. This administration is soaring. If anything, they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg!"

So, fearing another backlash, the organizers this year decided to go with somebody a little ... safer. Rich Little.

Now, the last time Little hosted the dinner, it was 1984. But after seeing his act on C-SPAN last night you could tell he hasn't missed a beat! Yes, from his spot-on impersonation of Johnny Carson to his hi-larious send-up of Ronald Reagan (Ha ha! He sure is forgetful for some reason!) Rich Little had the room in the palm of his hand. But then: The Big Finish. Little, as former President Richard Nixon, sang a parody version of Frank Sinatra's song My Way! Bra-VO! Nixon certainly did do it "his way!" Oh, topical humor, how I love you so!
